Deep Bodywork® III

Advanced Shoulder & Carpal Tunnel

Current & Upcoming Offerings

China

The Deep Bodywork® program is offered in collaboration with Jingni Wang.

New workshop dates are currently in planning.

About This Workshop

The shoulder is one of the body’s most complex and mobile regions. Its freedom of movement depends on the coordinated relationship between the rotator cuff, shoulder girdle, neck, and upper back. When these relationships become restricted, the effects are often felt far beyond the shoulder itself.

In this workshop, you’ll deepen your understanding of the functional anatomy of the shoulder complex while exploring practical approaches for working with the rotator cuff and the anatomical relationships involved in carpal tunnel syndrome. Rather than focusing on isolated structures, you’ll learn to recognize patterns of tension and continuity throughout the shoulder girdle and upper extremity.

Through demonstrations, guided practice, and partner exchanges, you’ll continue refining your ability to distinguish tissue layers, adapt your touch to different qualities of resistance, and create depth through gravity, efficient body mechanics, and responsive touch rather than force.

What you’ll explore

Throughout the workshop, you’ll integrate anatomical understanding with practical hands-on skills while continuing to refine your perception and precision.

You’ll explore:

  • Functional anatomy of the shoulder girdle and rotator cuff

  • The relationship between the neck, shoulder, and upper extremity

  • Practical approaches for working with patterns associated with restricted shoulder mobility and carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Fascial continuity and layer-by-layer tissue differentiation

  • Integrating movement into Deep Bodywork®

  • Working efficiently through gravity, responsive touch, and sustainable body mechanics

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for experienced massage therapists, bodyworkers, and manual practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of the shoulder complex through the official Deep Bodywork® approach.

Previous professional training in massage or bodywork is required. Participants should already feel comfortable working hands-on and be interested in refining both their anatomical understanding and the quality of their touch.

What you’ll take with you

You’ll leave the workshop with practical skills for working with the shoulder complex and a deeper understanding of the anatomical relationships involved in advanced shoulder work and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Beyond specific techniques, you’ll continue developing the qualities that define Deep Bodywork®: precise anatomical orientation, responsive touch, efficient body mechanics, and the ability to perceive how different layers of tissue relate to one another. These skills allow your work to become both more effective and more sustainable over time.

Continue Your Learning

Deep Bodywork® III is one of five workshops within the official Deep Bodywork® learning pathway.

Each workshop explores a different region and aspect of the body while deepening the same principles of anatomical precision, responsive touch, and embodied presence. Together, the five workshops build a comprehensive understanding of the Deep Bodywork® approach, with each course complementing and enriching the others.
