Deep Bodywork® II

Knees, Psoas & Deep Visceral Work

Current & Upcoming Offerings

China

The Deep Bodywork® program is offered in collaboration with Jingni Wang.

New workshop dates are currently in planning.

About This Workshop

The knees, pelvis, and abdominal cavity are deeply interconnected. Healthy movement through the knees depends not only on the joint itself, but also on the organization of the hips, the balance of the surrounding fascial structures, and the relationship between the pelvis, psoas, and the body’s center.

In this workshop, you’ll explore the functional anatomy of the knees while expanding your understanding of the psoas and its role in posture, movement, and whole-body organization. You’ll also be introduced to the principles of Deep Visceral Work, exploring how the mobility of the abdominal tissues and organs can influence structural balance and freedom of movement.

Through demonstrations, guided practice, and partner exchanges, you’ll refine your ability to perceive tissue with greater clarity, work layer by layer, and create depth through gravity, efficient body mechanics, and responsive touch. Rather than approaching individual structures in isolation, you’ll learn to recognize the relationships that connect the knees, pelvis, hips, and abdominal cavity as an integrated system.

What you’ll explore

Throughout the workshop, you’ll combine anatomical understanding with hands-on practice while developing greater precision and sensitivity in your touch.

You’ll explore:

  • Functional relationships between the knees, pelvis, and lower body

  • The role of the psoas in posture, movement, and structural organization

  • An introduction to Deep Visceral Work and its relationship to mobility and balance

  • Working with fascial continuity rather than isolated structures

  • Layer-by-layer tissue differentiation through slow, responsive touch

  • Using gravity and efficient body mechanics to create depth without unnecessary force

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for experienced massage therapists, bodyworkers, and manual practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of the spine, lower back, and hips through the official Deep Bodywork® approach.

Previous professional training in massage or bodywork is required. The workshop is intended for practitioners who wish to integrate refined anatomical knowledge with greater sensitivity, precision, and embodied presence in their hands-on work.

What you’ll take with you

You’ll leave the workshop with practical skills for working with the knees, psoas, and the body’s central support system, together with a deeper appreciation of the relationships between structural alignment, movement, and the mobility of the body’s internal tissues.

Beyond specific techniques, you’ll continue developing the qualities that define the Deep Bodywork® approach: precise anatomical orientation, responsive touch, efficient body mechanics, and the ability to perceive how different layers of the body influence one another.

Continue Your Learning

Deep Bodywork® II is one of five workshops within the official Deep Bodywork® learning pathway. Each workshop explores a different region of the body while continuing to deepen the same principles of anatomical precision, responsive touch, and embodied presence.

You may continue with any of the other Deep Bodywork® workshops as they become available. Together, the five workshops form the complete curriculum leading toward certification as a Deep Bodywork® Practitioner.
